A POP SHOP POEM Two small girls Neither in curls ...Would skip the rubies and pearls For a chance to squeeze A jumbo grilled cheese In their mouths, please!
By Rachel Rittweger & Erin Skala
Seamus, 4th grade Cheesy Poem I love grilled cheese, Can I have some more please?! It is so very yummy, When I feed it to my tummy. The cheese melts so quick, Then I give it a lick. When I eat it, it makes me glad. When it’s gone, it makes me sad. There’s room for more right now, So get me another….somehow!
Grilled Cheese Poem Please, Please, order me a grilled cheese. Gooey and so chewy Yummy in my tummy. I saw it and I wanted it. So, please get me that grilled cheese. Can your order me a soda pop from the Pop Shop. Oh, now I can’t wait to eat that cheesy grilled cheese.

| College Cravings By Morgan Gibbons
Every Sunday morning as I lay in my dorm I wish I were home and could go back to the norm. Though the food at college can pass the test with an A, I would easily give it up for the Pop Shop any day.
Back home, for years, every Sunday I would be, In a booth at the Pop Shop with my sister in glee! I wouldn’t even need a menu to pick Blueberry and Banana Nut Betty’s, please…and quick!
As the moments passed till I could indulge in this treat I would look at the food the passed thinking, “Wow that looks sweet!” Whether it be an omlette, French toast or a famous grilled cheese The customers served always looked more than pleased.
I wonder if I want to try something new next time? Or stick with that traditional order of mine. Sure I have ordered other things off the menu Reading off the newspaper, a world of options in view.
The Haddon, The Park, all named after “Ave”’s So many grilled cheeses that I want to have. But then I remember no matter what I chose It’s food from the Pop Shop so I never can lose
The gooey cheese, the bread, it is no surprise That it gets even better when I add my Pop Fries. Should I add a milkshake to complete my meal? Or will the Big Stink Cookie seal the deal?
But Sunday was special, it was meant for pancakes To dip in my syrup that is shaped like a lake. Those Betty’s are always the size of my face I enjoy every morsel for its delectable taste.
Here it comes, yes the table she is approaching is mine! She puts down the pancakes and man they smell fine! No matter how many times I’ve had them in the past Every time, never fails, my heart beats real fast!
My first bite is amazing and I begin to swoon They are out of this world, as if from the moon! The batter, the mix-ins, it all tastes so great! I don’t think anything is better than what I just ate.
But then suddenly reality its and I open my eyes Realizing in front of me, I’m missing my prize. I am sitting in my room at the college where I stay And sadly the Pop Shop is miles away.
I guess I will trek off to the cafeteria for now Solemn and sad, my head is bowed. I think of what I’m missing and can’t wait to return To the Pop Shop to indulge in those Betty’s I yearn!
So this Sunday morning when I am up and awake I start my countdown till my Pop Shop trip next break! Once I am home, to the Pop Shop I will dart Because there is always a soft spot for it in my heart!

American (cheese) the Beautiful
Oh forest of flavors full of taste
I wander through your browned cliffs of bread
watching streams of cheese run without haste
through trees of tomatoes oh so red
past beautiful rocks of avocado
ridges of sweet bacon hard and lean
through the lushness of pesto meadow
and gourmet mustards that lie unseen
toward the lake of mozzarella glow
‘round boulders of pickles gray and green
smelling the warm gold Jarlsberg blossoms
climbing o’er the focacia ridges
surrounded by the sharp cheddar mums
crossing juicy chicken slice bridges
past black olives parading like nuns
clouds of mayonnaise ever so dear
and amber waves of carm’lized un’yuns
tis April again grilled cheese is here
a forest of lush tastes for me to find
The Land of the Pop Shop draws me near
rich veins of flavors for me to mine.

The Sweet Grilled Cheese Grilled cheese, Grilled cheese, it’s so great. Sometimes I think I want to eat the plate. Cheesy white or cheesy yellow, Cheese oozing out the side to say, “Hello!” Grilled cheese, Grilled cheese, ten feet thick, I’d eat grilled cheese off a lollipop stick!! Made with white bread or even rye, I’ll eat grilled cheese till I die!! Grilled cheese, Grilled cheese, gooey good. Want my grilled cheese ? You wish you could! I eat grilled cheese both day and night. If you try to take it, we will fight!!

Grilled Cheese
Everyone likes grilled cheese,
Can you give me some please.
I like them with all my heart,
If they have a part in a movie
When they eat grilled cheese
I will have to play that part.
Grilled cheeses is so very yummy
It really feels great in my tummy
It is hot and steamy
It really makes me dreamy.

Grilled Cheese
Grilled Cheese is so cheesy.
I’ll eat it everyday
For breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Don’t tell my mom I ate grilled cheese,
She’ll tell me you will get a grilled cheese fever.

My Ham of a Morning
On the brink of the morning
On the edge of my bed
I did hear a birdsong twirping
Was it inside my head?
I opened my eyes to see.
What did I behold?
A cat on my bed.
And my sheets in shreds.
Smelling so much like cheese!
Shew! I said to the cat.
Who ate my sheets of cheese with great hunger?
Then I did behold.
My bed was made of bread!
Was I still asleep?
I couldn’t hear a peep?
No one would ever believe it.
But I was in a tizzy
My bed was a shambles.
My sheets were made of cheese
And I was caught between two slices of bread
That should have been my bed and bedspread.
Oh what a lark it was.
And the cat began to growl like a tiger.
I thought that tiger wanted me.
Was I a ham in a slice of cheese and bread?
Just when I began to panic
I began to shake awake…
It was just my Mom.
Another Monday.
Another schoolday.
Another Thursday!
I climbed out of bed and
They asked how did I sleep?!
I had nothing to say…
Except Mom please no Grilled Ham and Cheese!

Grilled Cheesy
I like grilled cheese I really do.
It tastes so yummy I could eat it all day.
If you haven’t had one you should try one now.
You’ll be delighted with how it will taste.
You’ll get some bread and get some cheese.
Put it on the oven at about 25 degrees.
Wait a couple minutes and you’ll have a tasty thing
That’s grilled cheesy!
And then you can eat a delectable thing called grilled
Cheese!
Josh, 5th grade
Cheese
Cheese, cheese, cheese
I can eat it all day long
I love the taste of Cheddar
But I hate the taste of Swiss
Cubed, sliced, gooey, wiz,
Sharp, mild, spicy, sweet, ooh it
Is all so good
Cheese, cheese, cheese
I can eat it all day long
It is so irresistible
I love it in mac n’cheese
Or a grilled cheese sandwich
Cheese, cheese, cheese
