WINNER!

Sunday rolls around,
And breakfast is yet to be found.

Our son is eager to eat,
And can only think of one place to meet.

Before he tells us so,
He yells Daddy-O!

And just like that we head out,
Why to the Pop Shop no doubt.

Sarah always greets us with a smile,
Come sit and stay awhile.

From crayons, to pb&j, and soda fountain cokes,
See your kids color, eat, and joke.

And isn’t that what it’s all about,
To see your family have fun, laugh and shout.

Waffle Mania, egg whites, no cheese,
We know the Pop Shop aims to please.

Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner,
Whatever your taste, the Pop Shop you must consider.

Because it doesn’t get much better than this,
The food of course is can’t miss!

RUNNER UP!

Haikus about the Pop Shop:

At the Pop Shop we
Enjoy eating foods of soy,
A veggie delight.

Grilled cheese is the best
In fifty varieties.
I will try them all.

Treats broke my diet.
I have no peace or quiet.
Too good to pass up.

A steaming bowl of
Tasty red tomato soup,
Dinner has arrived.

Peanut butter and
Hot fudge, Bananas and cream,
A treat of a dream.

Grilled cheese

Grilled cheese, grilled cheese,
Fun to eat!
Grilled cheese is my favorite treat!
Toasted cheese, and toasted bread,
It’s so good you’ll lose your head!
Toasty, toasty, oh, so toasty!
Pop Shop’s grilled cheese is what I want mostly!

Eat it slowly, bite by bite…
Grilled cheese makes my day so bright!
Yummy, yummy, oh, so yummy!
It feels so warm in my tummy.
Chew, chew, chew…
Swallow, swallow, swallow…
Now my stomach isn’t hollow!!!

I eat it like it’s a piece of gold,
Something that’s a treasure to hold!
I gobble it down,
Making exaggerated noises,
I know that I am making the right choices.

Yummy and warm,
With tomato soup
‘Makes me want to give a “whoop!”
For toasted goodness,
Yes I know,
I’d never ever let it go!!!

When I eat that delicious cheese,
I feel like getting on my knees,
To beg for MORE!
What a bore,
To have no… more… grilled cheese.

The Waitress at the Pop Shop

Your hair is as yellow as mac & cheese
You smell like bacon, it makes us wheeze
Your eyes are as warm as tollhouse pie
We look for you every time we come by

Oh what to order
We stand and loiter
The menu's so good
We'd order it all if we could

Breakfast, burgers, shakes and a fry
Salads, soups, and sandwiches on rye
Malts & Sundaes & ice cream sodas
Desserts here are musical codas

So stop in we must
And eat till we bust
With a hop, jump and a skip
We always leave a good tip

We've completed this rhyme
Until the next time
We promise to stop
At the Wonderful Pop Shop!!!

Cheesy Limerick

There once was a shop named Pop,
when you're around, you really should stop.

There's no waiting in line,

for their grilled cheese devine,

 and their milk shakes

will make your heart stop.

Poem

Took our son to the Pop Shop to hop
He ate grilled cheese
Until he dropped
He moved his knees
Danced to juke box oldies
Looking for a golden
hair beauty!

  Four more grilled cheeses

Cheddar, Munster and Limburger,
Goat, Roquefort and  Emmentaler,
Brie, Blue. Swiss  and Mozzarella,
Gouda,  Gruyere and  Gorgonzola,

We do have plenty of cheese to hate.
Plenty more we wish we hadn’t ate.
Those offsprings of the bactocilli,
Can make my taste buds feel so silly.

If I did not like grilled cheese so true
Wouldn’t have a belt size of forty two
Caseins, amines, milkfat and all that
Have taken my waistline where its at.

Still I need my son of whey today.
I confess,  I cannot stay away.
Waitress, please, four grilled cheese more!
Honey,,, I’m working on forty four.

Once I was a flower
But now I’m just a stem.
I didn’t like my petals
So I did away with them.
I thought my colors ugly
So I threw them all away.
Wanted orange, red and purple
Didn’t like my shades of gray
To look like other flowers was all I really wanted
Some like pink or red.
